It is conceived as a space of convergence and cultural activation, where Fashion is asserted simultaneously as a creative practice, an economic driver, and a social force in constant evolution. Located in the Palacete Gomes Freire, FASHION HOUSE stands as a space of negotiation between different times and languages, presenting creation as a shared territory, returned to the city and opened to the diverse publics who see themselves reflected within it. All projects, calendar, and opening times are available here.

Its programme embodies this spirit of encounter. Over four days, designers, press, opinion leaders and community meet in a space that challenges disciplinary boundaries and presents a wide array of proposals — from artisanal preservation to technological experimentation, from industrial sustainability to aesthetic immersion. From 2nd to 5th October, FASHION HOUSE hosts two distinct dynamics: a schedule of fashion presentations, talks and workshops (some exclusive to invited guests, others open to the public), and an exhibition, free admission, which encapsulates various dimensions of fashion within the Palacete Gomes Freire, through artistic installations and showcases.

On display is Colcha das Palmas by BÉHEN, highlighting the precision of Azorean craftsmanship and its contemporary reimagining; Constança Entrudo revisits her archive, amplified on a monumental scale, with All That is Solid Melts Into Air; Luís Infante, Thayra Correia and Rohme Textiles emphasise the ongoing relevance of artisanal making, while projects such as Smartex, RDD Textiles and Positive Materials demonstrate that innovation in the industry can be transparent, agile, and sustainable.

In the realm of technological research, a collective of students from IED – Istituto Europeo di Design presents 18K YEARS, an immersive installation that materialises the ceaseless digital flow; RetryOn offers a fusion of fashion and augmented reality, questioning identity and the body in the age of technological mediation. Speaking of interaction, João Magalhães once again subverts the traditional fashion show format by proposing a larger-than-life installation, inviting the audience to actively engage in his exploration of identity and pleasure.

If the exhibition aspect of FASHION HOUSE operates between crafts, design, sustainability and technology, its performative character expands through premieres. To the already announced presentations by Roselyn Silva, Ana Margarida Feijão, and Gandaia, we now add Sara Maia, debuting at Lisbon Fashion Week with Nada Aconteceu. E, Ainda Assim, Tudo Mudou — an essay on creative silence and intimate resistance.

The programme also extends into reflections on intimacy. Matilde Viegas exhibits Tecido da Casa, a photographic project exploring domesticity as an active practice of belonging. Nat Sly presents The Comfortable Lightness of Being, while Giovana Matsuda, through her origami pieces and an open workshop, introduces the materiality of paper as a shared technique. Isa Toledo and Cura by the Sea also explore the pedagogy of making with the workshop Sheets to Shirts, transforming hotel sheets into shirts. The dimension of listening is brought to the fore by Michael Gomes in two Sound Healing sessions, exploring sound as balance and collective awareness. Meanwhile, the Rosa Cravo project promotes a conversation between Kitty Oliveira and Joana Duarte (BÉHEN), fostering dialogue on tradition as a living resource for envisioning futures.

But FASHION HOUSE is not limited to exhibition and performance. The Lisboa Fashion Week’s shop returns with pieces from ARNDES, Bárbara Atanásio, BÉHEN, Dino Alves, DuarteHajime, Francisca Nabinho, Isza x Sara Valdez, Kolovrat, Luís Carvalho, Luís Buchinho, Mestre Studio, Nuno Baltazar, Ricardo Andrez, Roselyn Silva, and Valentim Quaresma. In another room, Bazofo & Dentu Zona bring a manual screen-printing atelier from Cova da Moura, inviting the public to take part in the personalisation of their own garments.

As the meeting point of MODALISBOA BASE, FASHION HOUSE embodies the role of Lisboa Fashion Week as an expanded platform for reflection, creation and activation. More than launching a new space, it puts forward a vision: Fashion as a collective practice and site of social experimentation, where authorship, innovation and cultural heritage coexist to project possible futures.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ disabled_on=”off|off|off” admin_label=”Related News” _builder_version=”4.19.5″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||||false|false” da_disable_devices=”off|off|off” global_colors_info=”{}” da_is_popup=”off” da_exit_intent=”off” da_has_close=”on” da_alt_close=”off” da_dark_close=”off” da_not_modal=”on” da_is_singular=”off” da_with_loader=”off” da_has_shadow=”on”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” width=”95%” width_tablet=”85%” width_phone=”85%” width_last_edited=”on|tablet” max_width=”2560px” custom_margin=”||25px||false|false” custom_padding=”0px||0px||true|true” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_css_main_element_last_edited=”off|tablet” custom_css_main_element_tablet=”width: 50%!important;” custom_css_main_element_phone=”width: 65%!important;”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”af543a65-a510-4d5a-bd0e-f29b21297a1d” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]

RELATED

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” width=”95%” width_tablet=”85%” width_phone=”85%” width_last_edited=”on|tablet” max_width=”2560px” custom_padding=”0px||0px||true|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][dsm_blog_carousel posts_number=”25″ include_categories=”526″ loop=”off” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”0e17602a-d383-450f-bb28-cf494f4e420d” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_blog_carousel][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

FASHION HOUSE establishes itself as a platform for cultural activation, where practices and discourses intersect to inform and question the present of Fashion.

[526
313
post-174782","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-base","tag-modalisboa-en","cat_ID-526
["GET
