European Fashion is undergoing a transformation that can no longer be understood in isolation. Rapid technological change is reshaping creative and production processes as well as business models; regulation is redefining responsibilities; new generations are seeking to establish themselves in an increasingly complex economic landscape; and the value of authorship, know-how and manufacturing heritage is gaining renewed significance as the creation and circulation of images become increasingly automated. Amid these forces, deciding what to protect, transform or develop has become a strategic question.<\/p>\n

This is the context for the first MODAPORTUGAL International Conference<\/strong>, promoted by CENIT<\/strong>, which opens the programme of the 67th Lisboa Fashion Week<\/strong> on 7 October<\/strong> at MAAT Central.<\/strong> Bringing together thought leaders from different parts of the world, the conference connects creative, business, institutional and technological perspectives<\/strong> to examine some of the conditions that will shape the evolution and competitiveness of Fashion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The programme explores the mechanisms needed to turn emerging talent into viable professional careers; the relationship between European policy, commitment and the implementation of better practices; the possibilities and implications of artificial intelligence and other technologies; and the strategic value of luxury, authorship, craft and know-how. Distinct questions converge in a broader reflection on how to create differentiation, preserve knowledge and ensure its transmission within an industry undergoing profound change.<\/p>\n
