Rapid technological change is reshaping creative and production processes as well as business models; regulation is redefining responsibilities; new generations are seeking to establish themselves in an increasingly complex economic landscape; and the value of authorship, know-how and manufacturing heritage is gaining renewed significance as the creation and circulation of images become increasingly automated. Amid these forces, deciding what to protect, transform or develop has become a strategic question.<\/p>\n
This is the context for the first MODAPORTUGAL International Conference, promoted by CENIT, which opens the programme of the 67th Lisboa Fashion Week on 7 October at MAAT Central. Bringing together thought leaders from different parts of the world, the conference connects creative, business, institutional and technological perspectives to examine some of the conditions that will shape the evolution and competitiveness of Fashion.<\/p>\n
The programme explores the mechanisms needed to turn emerging talent into viable professional careers; the relationship between European policy, commitment and the implementation of better practices; the possibilities and implications of artificial intelligence and other technologies; and the strategic value of luxury, authorship, craft and know-how. Marlene Oliveira is Head of the International Unit at CENIT \u2013 Textile Intelligence Center, where she coordinates internationalisation and global promotion initiatives for the Portuguese textile, clothing and Fashion industry, including the MODAPORTUGAL strategy, aimed at strengthening the international positioning and visibility of the Portuguese Fashion and textile ecosystem. With over two decades of experience in the international promotion of the sector, she was responsible for Portugal Fashion International, from 1999 to 2016. She holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Minho, complemented by further training in management and marketing.<\/p>\n
