Double J Collective<\/strong><\/a>, the first gallery dedicated to Fine Crafts<\/strong> and Concept Design<\/strong> in Dubai, opened in November in the Dubai Design District,<\/strong> building 7, with the mission of supporting European, Mediterranean and local artists, designers and artisans, who distinguish themselves by their talent and uniqueness. Maria Pratas, Marita Setas Ferro, Vanessa Barrag\u00e3o, Jos\u00e9 Ramos, V\u00e2nia Gon\u00e7alves, Albino Miranda, Miguel Soeiro, Paulo Antunes Studio, Evofabrics, Gir Gir,<\/strong> and Porventura<\/strong> are some of the Portuguese designers and brands represented in this new space that aims to push thelimits of creativity.<\/p>\n

Double j Collective<\/strong> is a project by Jorge Cerveira Pinto<\/strong> and Jonathan Silva<\/strong>, art enthusiasts, who believe \u201cin the power of art to transform lives and enrich society\u201d. Their goal is to provide lovers of Fine Crafts and Concept Design with authentic and unique pieces.<\/p>\n

Among the multiple works on display are works by Portuguese textile creators such as the vegetable fiber sculptures by Maria Pratas<\/strong>; the crochet \u201cSoft Sculptures\u201d by Marita Setas Ferro<\/strong> (founder of the Marita Moreno brand); and the organic structures made from recycled wool from textile waste by Vanessa Barrag\u00e3o.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Among the Portuguese artists are also the ceramicists Jos\u00e9 Ramos<\/strong>, with handcrafted stoneware ceramic pieces; and V\u00e2nia Gon\u00e7alves<\/strong>, with a ceramic sculpture that is a metaphor for human connections; as well as the designers Albino Miranda<\/strong>, with the \u201cFlex\u201d chair in fiberglass that can be customized with different finishing, color and fabric options; Miguel Soeiro<\/strong>, with his traditional wicker weaving; Paulo Antunes Studio<\/strong>, with an exclusive furniture collection; Evofabrics<\/strong> (Damaceno & Antunes) with unique decorative fabrics and wallpapers. The Gir Gir<\/strong> collective presents the \u201cHoney Collection\u201d of decorative and sustainable objects created with leftover marble; and Porventura<\/strong> exhibits unique furniture pieces that combine craftsmanship with the unusual to \u201ccapture the contemporary essence of the home\u201d.<\/p>\n
