Carminho<\/strong>, the great voice of Fado<\/strong>, is the protagonist of the new edition of Portuguese Soul<\/strong> magazine, dedicated to Legado.<\/strong><\/p>\n Fado, a Portuguese song that belongs to the world. In essence, Fado sings the feelings, the heartbreak of love, the missing for someone who has left, the everyday life, the achievements.<\/p>\n All Portuguese people feel Fado. It is something innate, that is born with us. The December edition of Portuguese Soul explores \u201cthis almost inexplicable connection that makes us feel Fado like a second skin that we inhabit. And if Am\u00e1lia Rodrigues was one of the unavoidable names of this musical genre that is so unique to us, the generation that followed leaves no doubt that her legacy is completely assured.\u201d<\/p>\n Carminho is one of the voices of this generation, who looks Fado with a new perspective. Daughter of the renowned fado singer Teresa Siqueira, she was born amidst the guitars and the voices of Fado. She made her public singing debut at the age of twelve, at the Coliseu. Her first album, titled \u201cFado\u201d, was released in 2009 and became one of the most acclaimed albums of the year and decade. In 2013, she established herself as one of the Portuguese artists with the greatest international projection, taking her voice to the four corners of the world. Carminho is the voice that sings in our senses, involves us and makes us fall in love again, every day, with Fado.<\/p>\n Carminho was part of Yorgos Lanthimos’ most recent film, \u201cPoor Things\u201d, performing the theme \u201cO Quarto\u201d (The Room). In an interview with Portuguese Soul, conducted by Cl\u00e1udia Pinto, with photography by Frederico Martins and styling by Cl\u00e1udia Barros, Carminho highlights that \u201cthe director chose Lisbon, Fado and the Portuguese language to communicate and create. He sees that this place is exotic and special. It was naturally important for me, for Fado and for Portugal. I owe a lot to the Portuguese language.\u201d<\/p>\n The December edition of Portuguese Soul will be distributed in the coming weeks in more than 120 countries, resuming \u201cthe search for our roots, for our very essence, for our legacy\u201d.<\/p>\n
