Associação ModaLisboa is one of the signatory organisations of the Bioeconomy Pact for the Textile and Clothing Sector, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, innovation and the responsible transformation of the Fashion industry.

Formalised on May 28, 2026, during the closing event of the be@t – Bioeconomy for Textiles and Clothing project, the Pact is the result of an initiative led by CITEVE, in collaboration with the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) and the sector’s representative organisations ANIVEC/APIV, ATP, ANIT-LAR and ANIL.

Built on a collective commitment, this initiative brings together business and non-business organisations to accelerate the transition of the textile and clothing industry towards a more sustainable, circular, regenerative and inclusive economic model. Aligned with the European Green Deal, the Circular Economy Action Plan, the Bioeconomy Action Plan and the European Union Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, it sets out objectives and targets to be achieved by 2030, structured around six strategic pillars: Materials and Circularity, Water, Energy and Climate, Innovation and Product Development, Human Capital, and the Value Chain.

Its key priorities include increasing the use of bio-based and recycled raw materials, promoting waste valorisation, reducing water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, integrating ecodesign principles into product development, and strengthening traceability throughout the value chain.

By joining the Pact, Associação ModaLisboa reaffirms its commitment to promoting a more sustainable, collaborative and innovative Fashion industry, contributing to the sector’s transition towards a more competitive, resilient and responsible future.
