CRAFTING THE BASE

Reframing Heritage in Contemporary Design

Free admission, with mandatory registration, HERE

A space for reflection on the future of materiality in a present shaped by digital abstraction. It proposes a perspective on the enduring and transformative value of traditional knowledge, questioning how ancestral techniques, often rooted in regional practices and slower rhythms, can not only survive, but reconfigure the parameters of contemporary creation. More than aesthetic references or strategies of nostalgia, the discussion addresses how know-how can provide concrete answers to the urgent challenges of sustainability, innovation, and permanence: what role can design play in mediating between heritage and future? And what do we gain when we look at the past as a place of invention, rather than merely conservation?
