NOSTALGIA FOR THE FUTURE
IED - Istituto Europeo di Design presents a graduate collection by a selection of students from its campuses in Italy and Spain. "Nostalgia for the Future" is the title of the fashion show, which represents the feeling of nostalgia for a future we have never seen, creating a longing for experiences and moments that only exist in the imagination.
This apparent contradiction translates into an aspirational longing for styles and trends that may yet emerge, and for an aesthetic that reflects a better and bolder future. Fashion, as a constantly evolving system, becomes a vehicle for the exploration of nostalgia.
Each collection is able to evoke its potential, proposing silhouettes that are both recognisable and innovative, mixing sport and elegance, madness and tradition. The garments are made from sustainable materials and showcase a future where creativity and social responsibility are intertwined. Never before have people been asked to think about what they want to become, to channel their desire for aesthetics not only in the way they dress, but also in the fragile way they live.
