DESASSOSSEGO, Inês Barreto’s FW 25/26 collection, is inspired by Livro do Desassossego (The Book of Disquiet) by Fernando Pessoa, a work written in fragments and later pieced together by others—yet it could have been arranged in countless ways.

Reflecting Pessoa’s style and philosophy, each garment in the collection is like a fragment, a piece of a larger whole that can be endlessly reimagined and rearranged. At its core, this collection embodies Pessoa’s rejection of a singular identity, embracing instead a fluid self, shaped by layers, contradictions, and a shifting combination of inner voices.

Like Pessoa’s scattered prose, the collection’s pieces are individual expressions of thought, but when worn together, they form a fluid tapestry that mirrors the unpredictable rhythm of the Designer’s mind.

In a world that insists on boxing people into fixed categories, the “Desassossego” collection celebrates the multiplicity of self, honoring the beauty and complexity of existing as a "hidden orchestra." It is not a symphony with a strict structure but rather a jazz-like ensemble, where each garment resonates with unique textures, colors, and energies, coming together in a spontaneous harmony.

With this collection, Inês Barreto invite the viewer to see the world through her lens: messy, vivid, full of rich textures, and above all, unrestricted.
