The Lisbon Municipality is proud to be a partner in yet another edition of ModaLisboa. This is a special moment, in a year of recovery from the pandemic, in which the “physical” once again occupies a central spot in our lives, and the “meta” transforms them daily.
Hub Criativo do Beato is the right place to host this emblematic initiative. It is a space of the future, which represents a new vision for Lisbon: a city that finds in its roots the energy of disruption, launching a new generation of creators and makers in a space that harbors the freedom to create, to innovate, to be.
Oscar Wilde once said that “nothing is so dangerous as being too modern”. This is the audacity to which ModaLisboa dedicates itself, year after year, without fear of risk, without limits or borders. A courage that inspires the city and challenges us to believe in Portuguese talent and in the ability to transform fashion into an example of sustainability and responsibility.

Welcome to MODALISBOA METAPHYSICAL. In co-organization with the Lisbon Municipality, we are committed to continuity, evolution and openness to our city. We are back, in line with Lisbon’s positioning, focused on the brilliant intersection between Fashion, Technology, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Art and Culture. This time we moved to Factory Lisbon, at Hub Criativo do Beato, the address of the Future par excellence.
Future. This is the word we always use in what we say, in what we do, in the way we see the world. We constantly talk about change, sustainability, transparency, ethics: in our communication, our eyes are always on tomorrow. But it is also important — it is urgent — that we, as an institution of thought and action, navigate the present time without alienating reality. Fashion is not utopian: it is symptomatically interpretive of society. And while it can bring us dream and escapism, it also moves us towards each other. For this reason, and for everything we are experiencing now, we reinforce Empathy, Inclusion and Respect in our vocabulary. I’m writing this in full conscience that everyone who builds ModaLisboa — Lisbon Municipality, the Designers, the journalists, our industrial partners, the brands that sponsor us, our audience, my team — do exactly that and, for this and for everything, I thank them deeply. Let us always create free universes, and let Fashion be a road without any walls. Creation, above everything else.
