DESIGNER

Inês Arthayett

SANGUE NOVO

Inês Arthayett, from Porto, was born into a family of artists, from photographers to painters. Art was always her only option. She graduated in Fashion Design at Modatex Porto, where she intensely explored her visual and artistic identity.

Inês tends to approach themes that incorporate society and social behaviors, fusing them with the intimacy of nature and spirituality. The use of satire as a means of deconstructing taboos distinguishes her work, giving a conceptual duality to her artistic language. The Designer usually explores transparency and softness in the materials, creating soft textures and baroque tones. She always uses deadstock materials, which for her are the way to be as sustainable as possible.

NUA i CRUA

The concept of this collection is based on storytelling. Namely, the story of a human being who experiences an epiphany, where his interest in human life, in a physical society as we know it, is fading.
It's quite clear that humans attach too much importance to their physical bodies and too little to their celestial, intellectual bodies and souls. That society lives in a vicious cycle, where low energetic vibrations take over the daily life of each individual being. Leaving them with no time to clearly face their true ambitions and life purposes.

With this in mind, the character reflects on the laws of the universe, in search of something better. This manifests itself in a spiritual journey through the quantum space continuum of the universe, where she finds clarity, knowledge and answers.
She comes to the conclusion that everything in the universe is interconnected and infinite, and also that everything in nature is made up of energetic vibrations, including humans. From here, he realizes that our physical body is nothing more than a shell for the various layers that make us up, being part of the universe in a more literal way than we realize. This knowledge makes the character capable of transmuting into energy and merging with the universe, becoming an energy pole in its raw and endless state.

Apart from the storytelling, there is also an aesthetic and visual concept, antagonistic and mysterious. Taboo elements of society, such as irony and criticism, are used to highlight the idea of the character's alienation from social canons.
