AFTERIMAGE, Luís Carvalho’s FW 26/27 collection, is born within a silent territory between what once was and what is remembered to have been — a space where time blurs outlines and memories reinvent themselves between the real and the imagined. Never entirely clear and often distorted, memories appear as emotional fragments that return with new forms and new meanings.

The silhouettes evoke this duality between presence and absence. Defined waists that cling to the body contrast with structured shoulders or dropped armholes, suggesting a carefree, almost instinctive attitude. A delicate tension emerges between control and abandonment, between rigour and freedom — as if each piece carried the gentle weight of the past, oscillating between what is remembered and what is reinvented.

Details become guardians of stories. Pockets hold dreams and secrets, small pleats trace the passage of time across the body, drapes flow like memories that insist on returning, and bands wrap the silhouette in a gesture that is both protective and revealing.

Materiality is grounded in the tradition of tailoring and timeless twills, while wrinkled-surface jacquards emerge as tactile metaphors — fabrics with a memory of their own, marked by a beauty that feels lived, almost inherited. The colour palette reflects this serene nostalgia: a base of greys and black, complemented by beige and white, creates a visual silence interrupted only by blood red — intense and pulsating, reminding us that every memory is also emotion.

Because remembering is a precious act, the collection proudly introduces a partnership with the centennial house Topázio. Jewellery is revealed through the unexpected reinterpretation of everyday objects, transformed into pieces that inhabit the boundary between function and poetry — just like memories, familiar yet surprising.

And because no memory is built alone, this show stands as a celebration of those who have walked alongside the designer since day one — a chosen, supportive and indispensable family.
