SANGUE NOVO supported by Seaside returns with the imperative of creating space for the generation that is arriving. A space where experimentation is embraced as a central practice. ModaLisboa’s Young Designers competition is back.
This imperative is made clear at first glance through the themes explored in the submitted projects: the liberation of the male body from aesthetic neutrality; social adaptation to scenarios of conflict; the inversion of gender stereotypes; the search for a place of belonging; the dreamlike state of innocence; the misinformation that inflames public opinion; the questioning of a Eurocentric perspective on Fashion; industrial rawness; the beauty of identity; and the confrontation with the harshness of unfair working conditions. These are signs of a way of thinking that does not settle for reproducing forms, but instead seeks to intervene in the systems that sustain them.
Each edition of SANGUE NOVO supported by Seaside proposes a journey in which the creators are given the conditions to mature ideas, test hypotheses, confront mistakes, and find autonomy. The platform establishes itself as a territory of critical learning, but also of freedom, where design shifts away from immediacy and moves closer to a broader vision of Fashion as a cultural and social language—capable of generating projects with true impact and longevity.
On October 3rd, at 6 PM, at Pátio da Galé, the work of the selected Designers will be revealed, and the finalists of this edition of SANGUE NOVO supported by Seaside will be chosen.
