AMMA – Fashion Design Gallery, in Matosinhos, will host a new exhibition by Luís Buchinho, from this Saturday, December 9th, at 5pm. On view until February 10, 2024, it brings together preparatory drawings from several of the Designer’s collections, as well as illustrations.

A regular presence on the Lisboa Fashion Week catwalk, awarded Best Fashion Designer at the Fashion TV Awards (2010) and Globos de Ouro (2012 and 2016), and GQ Fashion Personality (2022), Luís Buchinho has also distinguished himself for his work as a fashion illustrator. In 2022, he illustrated his first graphic novel, titled “SAL”, with texts by João Andrade and published by the Cecília Zino Foundation, in Madeira, which supports children and adolescents at risk. “SAL” was born from the stories of those who live in this foundation, with the aim of raising public awareness of the reality of the harshness of many childhoods.

AMMA – Fashion Design Gallery, located at the Casa da Arquitetura in Matosinhos, opened last October and is dedicated exclusively to promoting the work of national Designers and Fashion Creators. It presents unique and special collections, samples and runway pieces, as well as temporary exhibitions of photography, illustration and other fashion creations.

ModaLisboa’s Designers, DuarteHajime and Luís Buchinho, and Fashion Photographer, Frederico Martins, are three of the creatives currently represented in the gallery, which aims to celebrate creativity and Fashion in Portugal.
