On April 13th, The Next Turn. Lisbon presents “A Day of Reimagined Fashion”, a day dedicated to sustainability in the Fashion industry, whose program includes a workshop, a round table with esteemed national and international industry professionals, and the premier Portuguese screening of the film “Fashion Reimagined”, directed by Beck Hutner, which shows the trajectory of the British fashion designer-activist Amy Powney. The event will take place at the Goethe-Institut, in Lisbon, from 11am.

The Next Turn Lisbon is a collective of Lisbon-based Fashion Changemakers collaborating to craft a sustainable, equitable and just world. By producing innovative and educational events, they strive to reshape the fashion landscape into one of empowerment and environmental stewardship in Lisbon and beyond. “A Day of Reimagined Fashion” promises to be the first of its kind in Lisbon, addressing the current state of Fashion and how the Industry and consumers alike can take the next turn toward a circular, just and sustainable future.

Workshop: Mending Sharing & Caring
Sophie Lloyd, founder of Ziggy Lloyd, and the spiritual stylist Michelle Pozon will share practical tips to extend the life of your wardrobe with mending and care, as well as styling advices.

Screening of the film “Fashion Reimagined”
Amy Powney’s journey from outsider to leader in the Fashion sector. Daughter of environmental activists, Amy Powney aims to create an ethical and sustainable collection at all levels, from the textile fibers to the finished garment.

4pm
Roundtable discussion with special guest speakers:
Amy Powney, UK based fashion designer, activist, British Vogue columnist and Creative Director of Mother of Pearl, working to inspire the next generation of sustainable fashion designers and change makers.
Tiffanie Darke, Director at Story Studios, Communication and brand specialist with the twin passions of luxury and sustainability, believing that the future rests in responsibility to community and environment.
Ana Tavares: CEO of RDD Textiles, a pioneer in the field of sustainable fashion, with a deep commitment to environmental responsibility, revolutionizing the textile industry by integrating innovative technologies and sustainable practices.
Joana Duarte, Founder and Designer of the portuguese brand Béhen, continues to develop ongoing work with craftsmen, ancestral techniques and communities, while investing in the intersection between tradition and technological innovation to ensure know-how longevity.
