ModaPortugal Links
MODAPORTUGAL LINKS is an annual initiative promoted by CENIT – Textile Intelligence Centre, in partnership with ANIVEC – National Association of Clothing and Apparel Industries, which brings together Young European Fashion Designers, the Portuguese textile and clothing industry, and international experts, in a meeting dedicated to creativity, innovation, and sustainability.
With artistic direction and production by Associação ModaLisboa, the event establishes itself as a strategic platform, connecting education, design and production, promoting dialogue between emerging talent and manufacturing excellence. At the same time, it highlights the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industry sector as an international benchmark in building a more responsible, technologically advanced and future-oriented Fashion industry.
MODAPORTUGAL LINKS includes an European Young Fashion Designers Competition, which annually brings together emerging talents from some of Europe’s most prestigious Fashion schools, including Aalto University (Finland), Institut Français de la Mode (France), Polimoda (Italy), ESAD, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon and Modatex Porto (Portugal), London College of Fashion (United Kingdom), and HEAD Genève (Switzerland).
In addition to presenting their collections to an international jury, the young Designers have the opportunity to visit leading companies and technology centres in the national textile and clothing industry, gaining first-hand insight into cutting-edge manufacturing processes, innovative solutions and sustainable practices that reinforce Portugal’s position as an international reference in textile innovation.
The competition culminates with the awarding of prizes to the winners from each participating country, as well as the distinction for Best Collection of the MODAPORTUGAL LINKS Fashion Design Competition.
The MODAPORTUGAL LINKS ceremony also includes the presentation of the Business Excellence Awards, which recognise Portuguese companies that have made outstanding contributions to the development of the clothing, garment manufacturing and fashion sectors in Portugal, in categories including Brand, Exports, Industry 4.0, Investment, Sustainability and Turnover.
MODAPORTUGAL LINKS is part of Lusitano Project, funded by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan and by the European Next Generation EU Funds, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to a more sustainable, competitive and innovative fashion industry.
