UNITED FASHION

In 2017, a group of seven European Fashion organizations came together to create a project that defended, promoted and developed independent Fashion in Europe. In an unprecedented action and co-funded by the Creative Europe program of the European Union, UNITED FASHION was born. MAD – Home of Creators (BE), Baltic Fashion Federation (LV), Fashion Council Germany (DE), Fashion Weekend Skopje (MK), Flanders DC (BE), Maisons de Mode Lille-Roubaix (FR), and Associação ModaLisboa (PT) pledged to boost the industry, establish connections, build bridges and eliminate borders.

The main goal of this project is to promote entrepreneurial creativity and innovation to enhance business opportunities for European Fashion Designers. To achieve the aim of this project, over 4 years (2018-2021), several activities take place in each of the cooperating countries within the framework of United Fashion. More than 150 European designers and brands have the opportunity to present themselves, get acquainted with other countries’ market opportunities, participate in workshops and discussions and establish useful contacts with press, industry professionals and local consumers.

United Fashion’s events took place in Berlin (July 2018), Riga (October 2018), Berlin (January 2019), Skopje (March 2019), Lille (September 2019), Antwerp (November 2019) and Lisbon (March 2020). In February 2021, took place the final summit in Brussels.

ModaLisboa has taken Gonçalo Peixoto and Patrick de Pádua to Berlin, Cristina Real to Skopje, Duarte and Imauve to Riga, Constança Entrudo to Lille and Olga Noronha and Awaytomars to Antwerp for events ranging from showrooms to specialized fairs, pop-up stores, conferences, educational meetings and pitches.

Thinking about the future by strengthening the present is the basis of this international project that materialized in a stronger, more cohesive and more innovative European independent fashion industry, with more business opportunities, more sharing of strategic tools and with more objectives accomplished without ever limiting creativity.
