In FUSION, Valentim Quaresma’s FW 26/27 collection, the Designer structures his work through research into textile manipulation as a constructive methodology and formal language. Raw material is understood not only as a functional support for clothing, but as a plastic matter open to volumetric and structural transformation.
Through tensioned draping, twists, layering and three-dimensional interventions, the collection develops an approach that merges fashion with the Designer’s sculptural practice, resulting in a cross-disciplinary body of work. The dialogue with sculpture is established through a shared formal language researched and developed over many years.
Anachronic forms, seemingly displaced from a linear chronology, run throughout the collection. As in sculpture, references to past and future coexist within the same object, producing garments that do not belong to a specific time. A constant tension emerges between the tribal and the futuristic, between trace and projection.
The colour palette is built around black, grey and metallic surfaces.
