PÁTIO DA GALÉ. ACCESS BY INVITATION.
MUI SNOB E SEMPRE DESLEAL, “very vain and always disloyal”, is a literal contradiction of Lisbon’s motto, which declares it “very noble and always loyal”.
This collection explores a relationship of intimacy between the individual and the city. It speaks of the comfort that emerges when we let go of illusions and expectations. It speaks of extending the square metres of our homes into the streets of the city. Of allowing ourselves to be defined by the city, knowing that the city also defines itself through us.
My city is very vain and full of contradictions, and perhaps that is why I am too.
The collection explores this intimacy through a domestic language transported into the urban space. Leisure permeates the materials, combining Burel Factory wool with cotton jerseys. Pyjamas, robes and loungewear pieces become ways of inhabiting the city, blurring the boundaries between the private and the public.
