MEMORIES OF THE FUTURE
Gonçalo Peixoto’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection is not a journey into the past, but a place for questions: who are we? Where are we going? What remains?
Having explored Artificial Intelligence in his previous collection, this Spring/Summer becomes a space in which to search for answers and find comfort when the future feels unfamiliar. But it is not a return, because we cannot go back to what no longer exists. Instead, it is a stirring of memories, of what we cannot forget, of images that never leave us, of a love that never ends.
It all began with a photograph of the Designer’s mother. That mother, that woman, traces the path of a questioning rooted in the comfort of a place that will always be home.
From that time come printed organzas and wools, combined with elements characteristic of Gonçalo Peixoto’s work: flowers (ever-present), muslins and sequins, in a play of silhouettes that belong simultaneously to past and future, accompanying the Gonçalo Peixoto woman as she continues to evolve.
This collection also carries the awareness that there is always room to (re)imagine the path ahead, without losing the humanity of the invisible thread connecting us to who we are.
