ModaLisboa’s Designers Joana Duarte (Béhen) and Valentim Quaresma are nominated for the Globos de Ouro in the Fashion – Personality of the Year category.

Following distinct creative paths, Joana Duarte and Valentim Quaresma have established unique creative identities while making a significant contribution to the recognition of Portuguese independent Fashion. Through Béhen, Joana Duarte reinterprets traditional craftsmanship and Portugal’s textile heritage from a contemporary perspective, while Valentim Quaresma explores the transformation of materials and everyday objects in a practice that brings together Fashion, jewellery and art.

Also nominated in the same category are Inês Amorim and Reid Baker (Ernest W. Baker), Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida (Marques’ Almeida), and Miguel Castro Freitas.

The 30th Globos de Ouro Gala will take place on September 26, at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, marking the 30th anniversary of the awards organised by SIC and CARAS magazine, which annually honour outstanding personalities and projects in the fields of Fashion, Cinema, Theatre, Music, Fiction, Entertainment and Comedy. To celebrate this edition, a special 30 Years Award will be presented in each category. The Comedy category will also be divided into two subcategories: Personality of the Year and Comedy Project.

The ModaLisboa Association congratulates all the nominees, as well as SIC and CARAS magazine for holding another gala celebrating national talent.
