Dino Alves was the Designer invited to create the costumes for the play “Swing”, a comedy about relationships, sexual etiquette, shame, and truth, premiering on March 8 at the Auditório dos Oceanos in Casino Lisboa.
With a script by Henrique Dias, direction by Adriano Luz, and a stellar cast featuring Diana Nicolau, Diogo Morgado, Manuel Marques, and Susana Blazer, “Swing” promises to have audiences laughing out loud. The costumes, designed by Dino Alves, showcase the Designer’s signature creativity and irreverence, and reflecti the personalities and contrasts between the leading couples, adding an extra layer of humor and sophistication to the performance.
The story follows Nuno (Diogo Morgado) and Sofia (Diana Nicolau), a successful and seemingly happy couple. They have a comfortable life, a structured family, and everything success can provide, except an exciting sex life. In search of new experiences, they decide to explore the world of swinging and respond to an online ad placed by the “Kings of Swing”.
On the other side are Renato (Manuel Marques) and Márcia (Susana Blazer), owners of a small supermarket in Fernão Ferro and experienced swingers since 2003. The meeting between the two couples promises unexpected situations, hilarious dialogues, and reflections on love, desire, and personal boundaries.
Will the swap actually happen? Will they all be able to complete the experience?
“Swing” will be on stage at the Auditório dos Oceanos in Casino Lisboa, from March 8 to June 29, with performances from Wednesday to Saturday at 9:00 PM and on Sundays at 5:00 PM. The show will also take the stage at the Coliseu do Porto on July 5 and 6.
Tickets available now at Ticketline.pt and usual locations.
On March 7 at 9:00 PM, there will be a charity rehearsal. Tickets cost €12 (single price, no seat reservations), with the proceeds going to Casa do Artista. Reservations, here.
