In May, the ModaLisboa’s Designers reinforce their presence in Lisbon, online and across the international circuit, through a series of initiatives that combine Fashion and Art.
Until May 31, the Kintu Studio Store, in Lisbon, hosts a pop-up store by Ricardo Andrez, presenting a special selection of designs by the Porto-based designer.
On May 7, Studio2M, in New York, opens the exhibition “Ad Hoc”, showcasing the latest project by Constança Entrudo, developed in collaboration with French artist Marie Hazard. On view until June 12, the exhibition explores shared materials and references, proposing a dialogue between Art and Fashion. Textiles emerge as an intuitive and experimental field, where fabric becomes structure and is pushed to its limits.
Béhen releases its SS26 collection on its online store from May 8 and opens the doors of its atelier this Friday and Saturday, allowing guests and admirers of the brand to try on dresses from the collection in person. Between May 27 and 31, the brand presents the installation “Behind the Curtain, Time Resides” (Atrás da Cortina Mora o Tempo) at A Vida Portuguesa Intendente. Developed in collaboration with Bordal, the work takes the form of a series of organza curtains that reinterpret motifs from Bordal’s historical archive of traditional Madeiran embroidery. In parallel, a documentary short film by Matilde César offers an intimate perspective on the creative process.
The brand DuarteHajime hosts a new Archive Sale — with discounts of up to 80% — on May 9 at its studio, in Lisbon (Rua Amarelle 8C). The initiative also extends online on May 9 and 10.
Meanwhile, Gonçalo Peixoto launches a sportswear collection in collaboration with Portuguese padel and pickleball brand, QUAD. Designed to respond to the diverse needs of those who practise sport and adapt to different rhythms and contexts, the collection combines functionality and aesthetics, featuring pieces such as jumpsuits, leggings, sweatshirts, tops, shorts and tracksuits, as well as accessories — from socks to gym bags and trainers — now available in the QUAD’s online store.
