WILDFLOWER
For Spring/Summer 2027, Luís Carvalho continues the universe of his previous collection, centred on memory, nostalgia and the way time transforms what we remember. WILDFLOWER delves into an almost hazy childhood, shaped by fragmented, imperfect and deeply emotional images.
A childhood before technology became ever-present, when time seemed more expansive and was spent outdoors, among fields, wind, earth and natural light. A time of intuitive discovery, freedom and imagination, when play also meant experimenting, transforming and inventing.
The collection draws on these memories to create a world of innocence and freedom. Rather than reproducing childhood literally, it seeks to recapture the feeling of experiencing it: its lightness, movement, curiosity and the ability to find beauty in simplicity.
Visually, the collection draws inspiration from fields of flowers swaying in the wind, soft, shifting landscapes in constant motion. Flowers become both a graphic and structural reference, translated into details, volumes and pattern-cutting constructions that appear to grow and unfold across the body.
This feeling is expressed through light, fluid silhouettes, built through layering, organic volumes and relaxed proportions. Tailoring moves away from its traditional rigidity towards a more relaxed, deconstructed construction, allowing elegance to emerge naturally, almost intuitively.
The materials create a dialogue between fragility and presence. Lightweight, fluid fabrics meet more structured foundations, creating contrasts between movement and restraint, delicacy and substance. Different layers evoke different levels of memory: some more distinct, others almost faded, overlapping like images continually transformed by time.
The palette begins with neutrals, ecru, beige and grey, punctuated by shades drawn directly from the landscape and memory: grass green, salmon and sky blue.
