Fashion, Exhibitions
The exhibition of the project (re)veste, Weaving Transformation opens on December 12th at the AMMA Fashion Design Gallery, in Matosinhos.
(re)veste is a brand that was born from a community project promoted by the Centro Social de Soutelo and whose main objective is the social inclusion of young people and adults with disabilities and/or mental illness.
The project’s genesis is the transformation of clothing, which is a vehicle for personal, social and community transformation. The brand uses surplus clothing from charity shops, transforms it and gives it back to the community, removing the stigma of a used garment. From this perspective, environmental sustainability and the circular economy are also integrated into the project’s philosophy.
With creative direction by Miguel Flor and coordination by Mariana Eugénio, the exhibition (re)veste, Weaving Transformation presents the result of the customization workshops held during the year 2024 and will be open to the public until February 8, 2025.
