Valentim Quaresma is one of 31 artists invited to participate in the group exhibition “Undercover | Project One”, on display from 12 to 30 December, at the Espaço Exibicionista Gallery in Lisbon.
The exhibition creates a dialogue between sound and image, exploring how visual and musical languages influence and reflect each other. From Matisse’s La Musique to Basquiat’s jazz-inspired universe, and through iconic album covers that marked generations, the show revisits moments in which music drove visual creation — and in which art offered new ways of listening.
The works presented in this first edition of the Undercover project go beyond representing the musical world: they listen to music, embodying rhythm, timing and emotion, and invite the audience to also hear what lies between the silence of the images.
