MODALISBOA CORE starts today. In co-organization with Municipality of Lisboa we return to Lisboa Social Mitra, space of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, with a schedule of conversations, fashion shows and happenings designed to materialize the contemporaneity of the Fashion System.

The 60th edition of Lisbon Fashion Week’s starts with Fast Talks. In direct response to the CORE theme, the conferences moderated by Joana Barrios will have two moments of reflection on author Fashion: its challenges, its visions, its present and its future. The first part, which will focus on structural themes of the Fashion system, will be a practical framework of the Portuguese and international industry today. The second part is up to ModaLisboa’s Designers. Ana Duarte (Duarte), Constança Entrudo, Joana Duarte (Béhen), João Magalhães, Luís Carvalho, Marta Gonçalves (HIBU), Nuno Baltazar, Nuno Gama and Valentim Quaresma will expose their perspectives of the present and strategies for the future.

Tomorrow, March 10, the fashion calendar inaugurates with Sangue Novo competition, supported by Seaside, where the five finalists selected in October – Çal Pfungst, Darya Fesenko, Inês Barreto, Molly98 and Niuka Oliveira — will compete for the ModaLisboa x IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, ModaLisboa x Tintex Textiles and ModaLisboa x Showpress Awards. At the end of the show, the jury will announce the big winners.

On the Workstation platform, we will attend the presentation of ARNDES’ new collection, winner of Sangue Novo in April 2021. The following is the special and intimate presentation of Salsa Jeans (accessible only by invitation) and Filipe Augusto and Valentim Quaresma’s shows. At the end of the night, Olga Noronha returns to ModaLisboa’s catwalk.

On Saturday, March 11, the day starts with Constança Entrudo, who returns to her performance moments to present a capsule collection with illustrator Ema Gaspar. To consolidate ModaLisboa’s mission of providing a stage for new talents in the industry, at 3PM we present the IED Graduates Fashion Show. Under the theme Future Starts Slow, six young Designers trained by the European Design Institute — Nicolò Artibani, Lorenzo Attanasio, Alessandro Bonini, Gaia Ceglie, Luca De Prà, Giovanni Marchetti and Maria Eleonora Pignata — will present their capsule collections, inviting the public to slow down and appreciate the natural passage of time required by a sustainable Fashion production.

On the same day, Luís Buchinho, Buzina, Luís Carvalho, Béhen and Gonçalo Peixoto make known their new collections and APICCAPS presents Portuguese Soul, a happening that gravitates around the circularity of leather footwear.

João Magalhães opens the program on Sunday, the 12th, at 2PM. At 3PM, Duarte make known her new creations, followed by Hibu, Carlos Gil, Nuno Gama, Nuno Baltazar, Dino Alves. After the success of its debut on the catwalk of ModaLisboa in October 2022, Call Me Gorgeous, the accessories brand of Luís Borges, closes the calendar of MODALISBOA CORE at a time that promises to go far beyond a show.
