MODALISBOA À LA CARTE | SIDE EVENTS

ModaLisboa À La Carte, ModaLisboa

28 September '23

Just like the body, Fashion also needs to feed on diversity: fashion shows may be the protein that allows the cell to maintain its integrity, but what would we do without good hydrates?
MODALISBOA À LA CARTE presents all the accompaniments of the tasting that can be consumed, in moderation, from the 5th to the 8th of October.

FAST TALKS
Talking about Sustainability is not an emergency: it is an obligation. And now that those who work in Fashion already know it as a finished dish, it is necessary to dissect each of its ingredients. With speakers specialized in technology, research and sustainable transition, EAT YOUR GREENS: Tech, Innovation and Creativity towards the only possible future is MODALISBOA À LA CARTE’s first conversation, completely focused on what Innovation is doing, in concrete, to mitigate the climate crisis and create solutions that guarantee a future for the industry. But to talk about the future, it is also necessary to talk about the present. And the present is made up of brands that, even with small and ethical productions, manage to differentiate themselves in the market through their identity. In SPILL THE TEA: Creativity and Fashion Brand Building in the age of oversharing, national and international speakers tell us how, to have a voice in an era where everyone speaks at the same time, there is no need to shout.
Moderated by Joana Barrios, FAST TALKSOctober 5th, Carpintarias de São Lázaro — will have livestream on ModaLisboa digital platforms, and free entry with mandatory registration. Full program here.

BEAT BY BE@T
Collaboration: the premise that united the creativity of Designers with the know-how of SMEs in the textile industry in the first edition of beat by be@t, a project in partnership with Associação ModaLisboa. The innovation program for Sustainability created by BCSD Portugal within the scope of Be@t (consortium of 55 entities led by CITEVE and co-financed by PRR) reveals, at MODALISBOA À LA CARTE, the six projects resulting from the stimulus for the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy.
From October 6th to 8th, at Pátio da Galé, the guests of the Lisboa Fashion Week shows will be able to discover the work of the duos in an exhibition governed by circularity. Even in the development of the space: all materials (from the structures, to the carpet made from recycled fibers and to the branding) of the pavilion will be reused or recycled.
From pieces capable of growing with the body to materials that regenerate, eco-design, eco-engineering and waste reduction are in full swing at Lisboa Fashion Week, before meeting the winning duo of the first edition of beat by be @t, at the end of October. More information about each of the projects, here.

As for the MODALISBOA À LA CARTE closing party, it is also hosted by Sustainability: beat by be@t celebrates its first edition with Lisboa Fashion Week, at a time when music, immersive visual and sound installations and a commitment towards the future will be the best dessert imaginable for this menu.
